Data Deletion Policy

1. Your Right to Data Deletion
X-Pay respects your right to privacy and control over your personal data. You have the right to request deletion of your account and associated data at any time. This page explains how to submit a data deletion request and what happens to your data.
⚠️ Important Notice
Data deletion is permanent and irreversible. Once your account is deleted, you will lose access to all services, transaction history, and any remaining wallet balance. Please ensure you withdraw all funds before requesting deletion.
2. How to Request Data Deletion
Method 1: Via WhatsApp (Recommended)
- Open WhatsApp and message Xara
- Type:
"Delete my account"
or"Delete my data"
- Xara will verify your identity by asking for your PIN
- Confirm that you want to delete your account and all data
- Receive confirmation when deletion is complete (within 48 hours)
Method 2: Via Email
Send an email to xara@xpay-bits.com with:
- Subject: Data Deletion Request
- Include: Your full name
- Include: Phone number associated with your account
- Include: Reason for deletion (optional)
We will respond within 48 hours to verify your identity and process your request.
Method 3: Via Support Form
Visit our support page and:
- Select "Data Deletion Request" from the form
- Provide your account details for verification
- Submit the form
- Our team will contact you within 48 hours
3. What Data Is Deleted
When you request data deletion, the following information is permanently removed from our systems:
Personal Information
- Name and email address
- Phone number
- Profile information
- Authentication credentials
- WhatsApp conversation history
Financial Data
- Wallet balances (must be $0)
- Transaction history
- Payment preferences
- Beneficiary lists
- Virtual card information
Usage Data
- Device information
- Session logs
- Location data
- Analytics data
- AI conversation history
Other Data
- Susu group memberships
- Savings goals
- Notification preferences
- Support tickets
- Feedback and surveys
4. Data Retention Requirements
While we delete most data immediately, certain information must be retained for legal and regulatory compliance:
Information We Must Keep
- Transaction Records: Financial transaction logs for 7 years (regulatory requirement)
- KYC Documents: Identity verification records for 5 years (anti-money laundering laws)
- Fraud Prevention: Records related to fraud investigations or disputes
- Legal Holds: Data subject to active legal proceedings or government requests
This retained data is anonymized where possible and stored securely with restricted access. It is only used for compliance purposes and is never used for marketing or service improvement.
5. Before You Delete Your Account
Please complete these steps before requesting data deletion:
1. Withdraw All Funds
Transfer or withdraw all remaining balance from your X-Pay wallet. Accounts with remaining funds cannot be deleted until the balance is $0.
2. Cancel Pending Transactions
Ensure all pending deposits, withdrawals, or transfers are completed or cancelled. Accounts with pending transactions cannot be deleted.
3. Export Transaction History
Download a copy of your transaction history if you need it for tax or personal records. This will not be available after deletion. Message Xara: "Export my transactions"
4. Leave Susu Groups
If you're a member of any Susu savings groups, please leave them before deletion. Group administrators must remove you from active groups.
5. Resolve Outstanding Disputes
If you have any open support tickets or transaction disputes, resolve them before requesting deletion. Contact xara@xpay-bits.com for assistance.
6. Deletion Timeline
Within 24-48 Hours
- Account access disabled
- Profile and personal information deleted
- WhatsApp conversation history removed
Within 7 Days
- All backup copies deleted
- Third-party service providers notified to delete data
- Analytics and usage data purged
Within 30 Days
- All deletion processes verified and completed
- Confirmation email sent
- Retained compliance data anonymized
7. Third-Party Data
X-Pay integrates with third-party services that may have their own data retention policies:
- WhatsApp/Meta: Your WhatsApp conversations are subject to WhatsApp's Privacy Policy. We do not control WhatsApp's data retention.
- Payment Providers (MTN, Orange Money, Stripe): Transaction records with these providers are subject to their own policies and may be retained independently.
- AI Services (OpenAI): Anonymized conversation data used for AI training may be retained by our AI provider per their data policies.
We will instruct all third-party processors to delete your data, but cannot guarantee deletion from their systems beyond our contractual obligations.
8. Reactivation Policy
Once your account is deleted, reactivation is not possible. If you wish to use X-Pay services again in the future, you will need to:
- Create a new account from scratch
- Complete identity verification again
- Lose access to previous transaction history
- Rebuild beneficiary lists and preferences
Consider temporarily deactivating your account instead of full deletion if you may return.
